Show Information
The site-responsive show has been re-staged and performed in a range of unusual and beautiful venues including a Berlin warehouse, a Gothic church, a Victorian mansion, an elegant Georgian House in Central London, an art gallery on the Isle of Wight, a castle near Eastbourne and a festival in South London.
The Semele Project is based on Händel's opera, Semele. It is the story of a beautiful but vain young mistress who is deceived and destroyed by a jealous and powerful wife.
In the Press
'If you were there, you know what a truly extraordinary, exciting and innovative thing - and such a visual delight - was Opera in Space's production of Semele.'
Isle of Wight County Press
'…the actors move like dancers, sing like angels and play a variety of instruments. Remember their names, they are our future stars.'
South Wight Chronicle
'We found ourselves watching opera that had been whisked out of the theatre and draped, pranced, flirted and flaunted about the rooms and furniture of a London Georgian mansion...'
Le Cool Magazine London
